Supporting Schema References in Keyword Queries over Relational Databases

چکیده
Relational Keyword Search (R-KwS) systems enable naive/informal users to explore and retrieve information from relational databases without knowing schema details or query languages. They take a keyword query, locate their corresponding elements in the target database, connect them using on PK/FK constraints. Although there are many such literature, most of only support queries with keywords referring contents database just very few refering schema. We propose Lathe, novel R-KwS that supports queries. To this end, we first generalize well-known concepts Candidate Joining Networks (CJNs) Query Matches (QMs) handle new algorithms generate them. Then, introduce two major innovations: ranking algorithm for selecting better QMs, yielding generation fewer but CJNs, an eager evaluation strategy pruning void useless CJNs. present experiments performed sets datasets previously experimented state-of-the-art systems. Our results indicate Lathe can wider variety while remaining highly effective, even intricate schemas.

Queries to Temporal Databases Supporting Schema Versioning
The conceptual schema (intention) and raw data (extension) are evolving entities which require adequate support for past, present and even future versions. Temporal Databases supporting schema evolution were developed with the aim of satisfying this need. The support for schema versioning raises two complex subjects: the storage of the several schema versions and their associate data, and the p...
متن کاملEfficient Schema Based Keyword Search in Relational Databases
Keyword search in relational databases allows user to search information without knowing database schema and using structural query language (SQL). In this paper, we address the problem of generating and evaluating candidate networks. In candidate network generation, the overhead is caused by raising the number of joining tuples for the size of minimal candidate network. To reduce overhead, we ...
متن کاملA Framework for Processing Keyword-based Queries in Relational Databases
The large sizes of existing databases are rapidly increasing with time. In this environment, there is a need to help users, who are usually not familiar with SQL statements and the schema of a database, in getting the information sorted according to their relevancy. In response to this need, many researchers have introduced the capability of querying a database based on a list of keywords. A us...
متن کاملAnswering Keyword Queries involving Aggregates and GROUPBY on Relational Databases
Keyword search over relational databases has gained popularity as it provides a user-friendly way to explore structured data. Current research in keyword search has largely ignored queries to retrieve statistical information from the database. The work in [13] extends keywords by supporting aggregate functions in their SQAK system. However, SQAK does not consider the semantics of objects and re...
متن کاملOntop: Answering SPARQL queries over relational databases
In this paper we present Ontop, an open-source Ontology Based Data Access (OBDA) system that allows for querying relational data sources through a conceptual representation of the domain of interest, provided in terms of an ontology, to which the data sources are mapped. Key features of Ontop are its solid theoretical foundations, a virtual approach to OBDA that avoids materializing triples and...
